DATA COMPANY ONE INC. – PRIVACY NOTICE

This privacy notice (“Privacy Notice”) for Data Company One Inc (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), describes how and why we collect, store, use, and/or share (“process”) uses personal data we collect from you when you use our mobile application (“App”) or website at www.datacompanyone.com (“Website”).  This Privacy Notice does not apply to any other websites or applications where it is not posted, or that are run by third parties, and you should reference the respective third-party privacy policies for information on how they collect and use your data.

1. What data do we collect?

We may collect the following types of “personal data,” which includes information which is related to an identified or identifiable natural person:

• Personal identification information, such as your first and/or last name, email address, mailing address, phone number, date of birth, etc.
• User account names and passwords.
• Computer, device, and technical information, such as your device and usage information including Internet Protocol addresses and location, or other unique personal identifiers such as cookies and beacons.
• Geolocation information, if you consent to us collecting such information.

2. How do we collect your data?

You directly provide us with most of the data we collect, such as personal identification information when you create an account with us or use the App. We may also collect data when you use or view our App, Website, and services, including via your browser’s cookies.

3. How do we process your data?

We collect and uses data for legitimate business purposes, such as to:

• Facilitate account creation and authentication and otherwise manage user accounts. We may process your information so you can create and log in to your account, as well as keep your account in working order.
  
• Provide services to you that you request or download, such as providing access to our services, App, and Website electronically, and to manage your account.
• Communicate with you, such as responding to your requests or questions, presenting our App and Website, or sharing important information or updates with you.
• Support our business functions, such identifying usage trends to improve our products and services (such as the App and Website), to maintain the security and operation of our App and Website, for troubleshooting, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes, detecting and repairing system performance issues, etc.
• Save or protect an individual’s vital interest. We may process your information when necessary to save or protect an individual’s vital interest, such as to prevent harm.

We only process your personal data when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason (i.e., legal basis) to do so under applicable law, like with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services to enter into or fulfill our contractual obligations, to protect your rights, or to fulfill our legitimate business interests.

4. How do we keep your data safe?

We have implemented and maintain reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect the security of your personal data.  However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your data, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, and we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, or modify your data.  Thus, you should only access the App, Website, and services for which this Privacy Notice applies within a secure environment, and any provision or transmission of personal data to and from our websites, software, and services is at your own risk.

5. When and with whom do we share your data?

We may share personal data in limited situations described in this section and/or with the following third parties:

• Business transfers – We may share or transfer your data in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
• Business Partners – We may share your information with our business partners to offer you certain products, services, or promotions.
• We may also share anonymized information collected from use of our App with third parties to achieve the goal of our App to provide information regarding the disposal of certain products.  Such information may include information regarding the locations where certain products were disposed of, or other information about the disposal of products you have scanned in the App that does not identify you personally.
  

6. What are your consumer rights?

• Right to know – Depending on the circumstances, consumers may request information regarding whether and how we have collected and used their personal data.
• Right to access – Consumers may request that we provide them access to and copies of their personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
• Right to correct – Consumers may request that we correct, complete, or update any information they believe is inaccurate.  
• Right to delete – Consumers may request that we delete their accounts or personal data, under certain conditions.
• Right to restrict certain uses – Consumers may object to our processing of their personal data and/or request that we restrict the processing of their personal data, under certain conditions.  For example, you consumers may request that we not sell their personal data or share such data for purposes of targeted advertising or profiling.
• Right to data portability – Consumers may request that we transfer the data that we have collected from them to another organization or to them, under certain conditions.

7. Controls for Do-Not-Track-Features

Some web browsers and mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.

8. Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behavior information. When you visit our App or Website, we may collect information from you automatically through cookies or similar technology. Such information may be used, for example, to optimize the functionality of our App and Website, to help us understand how our App and Website are used, and to keep you signed into your account. There are a number of different types of cookies, and our App and Website utilizes functionality cookies, such as cookies that allow us to recognize you on our App and Website and remember your previously selected preferences or to keep you signed into an account.  In many cases, you can disable certain cookies and set your browser not to accept cookies.  However, some of our  features may not function as a result.

9. Children's privacy

The App and Website are only intended for users over age 18 or users younger than 18 who are using the App or Website with parental consent.  We do not knowingly collect any personal data from any individual 13 years of age or under.

We will review and place any updates to this Privacy Notice at www.datacompanyone.com . This Privacy Notice was last updated on July 12^th, 2023.
